The Ironstone Herd
was established in 1980 with Limousin and
cross-bred animals kept as commercial cattle.
Since then Smiths of Bloxham have invested
heavily in the Limousin breed, and that
investment is now producing results.
The herd has 140 cows but when including
young stock, this figure goes up to 400
animals altogether.
Bulls and females are always for sale and
visitors are welcome by
appointment only.
|
|
Ironstone cattle will be selling at various venues
during 2007, including:
21 April at
Newark :
|
sale of some females |
1 June at
Carlisle :
|
sale of in-calf heifers,
bulling heifers, yearling heifers and a few
heifers with calves. |
|
The Ironstone Herd will be represented at all the
major shows during 2007, including The Highland, Royal,
Royal Welsh, Great Yorkshire
and East of England.
